It is arguably the most famous intersection in the world, and represents the diverse culture and energy of New York. This famous entertainment center is at the crossroad of Seventh Avenue and Broadway and stretches from 42nd to 47th streets. It is also the hub of the Broadway Theater District and a major center of the world’s entertainment industry. Times Square is one of the world’s most visited tourist attractions, drawing an estimated 50 million visitors annually. Approximately 330,000 people pass through Times Square daily, many of them tourists; while over 460,000 pedestrians walk through Times Square on its busiest days. Some to attend the areas many Broadway shows, some to dine, and all experience the glowing lights and energy of this famed area.Originally called Longacre Square, in 1904 this neighborhood became known as Times Square. It is often debated as to whether it was at the bidding of New York Times owner Alfred Ochs when the New York Times headquarters were built on 42nd Street. Or was it the owners of the independently owned subways in the neighborhood made the change happen?
We were walking around and saw this long line for the Stardust. None of us had ever had of it, so we put it on the list to look up. After finding this information, it is something we’d like to do if we ever go back to NYC. Stardust is home to the future stars future stars of stage and screen. at Ellen’s Stardust Diner is the home of singing waiters & some of the best Diner food in the country since 1987. It has a retro 1950s theme, videos on 1956 Predicta TVs & a drive-in theater screen.
