Once we were on board it would take two to three hours (usually about 2:00) before we could get to our cabins. The passengers from the previous sailing had to be out of their rooms by 9:00 this morning, it only makes sense that the staff needs time to get the cabins cleaned. So the first thing we did was find a dining room and have lunch. After lunch we started exploring the ship so we would have some idea where things are. This is the Bier Garten, located on Deck 13, high up midship, overlooking the pool area. Unfortunately, since it is so high, it is not a highly desirable place to be in Alaska or any other cold weather cruising. This could be the reason it was open only twice on this cruise. It was offered once during the sail away party and one other morning. bar serves the standard array of drinks, especially featuring the helmet with the purchase of 4 beers, the fifth is free.
On one of the decks there were these very nice window seats, a nice place to set and read a book or just to watch the world go by.
They announced that are cabins were ready so we’re off to check it out.
