The New Theatre Restaurant has a sleek new look, a blend of art deco and futuristic elements that represents a top-to-bottom redesign of the theater, lobby, restrooms and serving areas. The updates are a nice addition to the buffet and plays. The new chairs had not arrived in time so we had the old chairs, which aren’t that bad. We have season tickets and love our table. We are on the 8th row, center of the stage at a table for six even though there is only four of us. “Forever Plaid†was the first show presented by the New Theatre when it opened in 1992.
“Forever Plaid” is an internationally acclaimed musical revue that tells the story of four young, eager, male singers. The group in 1950 meet their demise in a bus crash on the way to their first big concert. Â Every evening they return from Heaven to posthumously fulfill their dreams, to perform the concert that never was.
This play featured great hits such as Sixteen Tons, Catch a Falling Star, Matilda, Moments to Remember, Chain Gang, Heart and Soul and Three Coins in the Fountain.
