The Palace of Fine Arts was originally constructed for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition and is one of the few structures left and the only one still situated at its original site. It was rebuilt in 1965 and the lagoon and walkways were renovated in 2009. It hosts art exhibits as well as various other events which are listed on their website. This place is such an icon that there’s even a mini replica of it at Disney’s California Adventures!

One great thing about this place is that they have free parking. We walked around admiring the columns, the lagoon, the rotunda… the entire area is very beautiful and picturesque. No wonder a lot of couples have their wedding pictures taken here! This is a nice place to just hang out and relax for a bit, or wander around taking pictures. Definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area.
