We, being the Neighbors, went to Nite at the Races. This is one of CASA’s annual benefit event. Rick always pays for a table and we go and have fun. The event consists of a buffet style dinner and 8 actual horse races shown on-screen.
Guests use fun money provided in their race packets to place bets on the horses, which are sponsored and named by area businesses. Rick always sponsors a horse he names for his wife Rumi. Dee and me standing in line to place our bets.
Rumi and Dee waiting for the evening to start.
Steve, me, Dee, Katy and Gail (Katy’s friend) at our table. Rick, Rumi, Mark and Val were also at our table but they were checking out the silent auction items when the photographer came by.
The buffet is always BBQ with potatoes, baked beans, salad and this year assorted cup cakes for dessert.
The evening ends with a live auction of baskets and entertainment packages and guests use the fun money to participate in the auction. We didn’t do so well this year on our betting, we had just over $200 so we gave the money away and headed home early
