Bill and Sue have lived in a lovely home for many, many years. They recently remodeled their kitchen, half bath and laundry room. They did a really nice job designing the layout of the cabinets, selecting the new counter tops, and creating a bright new kitchen. Half of the wall between the kitchen and den was taken down, making the two room look huge. The inspiration piece for the colors was a picture of their grandson’s hand and a heart. Sue’s attention to details could be seen everywhere. The half bath off the kitchen is small so finding a sink for the new vanity was a challenge. They found this really neat basin, that is a bowl with a plate under the faucet, so it creates a waterfalls. They used the same counter tops and white cabinets to continue the theme into the bath and laundry room. Save
The Younglove Room gets its name from the original owner and builder of the 1859 octagon house. Along with constructing the octagon house, Timothy Meigs Younglove was one of the founding members of the Pleasant Valley Winery in 1860, and an important local businessman. The guest room that bears his name, The Younglove Room, exhibits an inviting and stately charm, with deep rich colors and a queen-size sleigh bed over a lush hand-knotted rug. Off of the upstairs front hall, this room offers a southeastern view of the picturesque landscape across the valley. There was organic handmade soap, shampoo and body wash in the bathroom. Save

For our first play, we went to see “Jersey Boys,” which was just across the street from our hotel. The musical opened on Broadway in 2005. “Jersey Boys” is known as a jukebox musical with music by Bob Gaudio, lyrics by Bob Crewe, and book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice. It is presented in a documentary-style format that dramatizes the story of four young men from the wrong side of the tracks in New Jersey. The play takes you through the formation, success and eventual break-up of the 1960s rock ‘n roll group The Four Seasons. “Jersey Boys” has the advantage of featuring singers that actually sound like the singers they are portraying and a technology-enhanced band that approximates the original sound of their music. Jersey Boys won four 2006 Tony Awards including Best Musical, and the 2009 Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Musical. The sets are simple …
For Christmas Steve gave us a trip to New York. So we took off on February 16th for the Big Apple. We arrived at the airport and found a stretch limo that would take us to our hotel in the theatre district. This is an area in Midtown Manhattan where most Broadway theatres are located, as well as many other theaters, movie theaters, restaurants, hotels, and other places of entertainment. It extends from West 40th Street to West 54th Street, from west of Sixth Avenue to east of Eighth Avenue, and includes Times Square. We stayed at the Novotel New York. We could see Times Square from our window. In the early morning the street was empty except for taxis. Late at night there were lots of cars and people running around like little ants. One night several fire trucks worked their way through the maze of cars and people. …
