The Boardwalk is a trip down memory lane that fills your senses with the aroma of baked donuts, ice cream and jaunty music of the carousel. There is Pets at Sea shop where you can make your own stuffed animal. At Smile you can have your picture taken with over 100 costumes to choose. Candy Beach is a store with all the old-time candy and oodles of modern-day classics. It is the world’s first seaside at sea. There were all kinds of things for kids to do. Samantha liked the double-decker bus and the car.
As we entered the Boardwalk we found the beautiful carousel. Each piece on the carousel took between 6 to 8 weeks to carve, sand and paint – all by hand. When you look at the horse you notice that only one side is ornately decorated. Most carousels are finished with 2-3 coats of sealant but the animals on this one have coats of each to make sure they are completely protected from the elements.
