Kristie’s birthday was October 17th. Holan thought it would be fun to decorate her cabin door so we took along some magnets with her baby photos and streamers. We had dinner at Giovanni’s Table, a Tuscan themed resturant . The food was served family style and was very interesting in types and taste. Kristie opened her gifts, was sang to by the waiters and received a chocolate cake with a candle. Dinner was a rushed due to getting back on the ship from Labadee and having an early show booked. We didn’t want her sitting too long – at her age she might have fallen asleep after our full day!r
We did some swimming at Adrenaline Beach, played at the Adventure Ocean Facility and enjoyed the warm sun before taking the tram back to the entrance of the island. At each port they take photos as you get off the ship. Since we were buying the CD of the ship photos we took advantage of every possible shot.
The coaster was on the side of the mountain over looking the water. Since the coaster can get up to 30 mph it is equipped with hand breaks.
After the nice breakfast on our balconies we were off to the island. Samantha and I found a great location to play in the sand and water while the rest of the group headed to the Dragons Breath Flight Line. After receiving their flight briefing and orientation they were “suited up†with their gear. They then did the “Little Dragon†flight line to make sure they wanted to do the big one. After their test run they rode in a custom made safari vehicles to the take off point for the Dragon’s Breath. This is the view from the Dragon’s Breath. It is 500 feet above the beaches of Labadee and is over 2,600 feet long. It is the longest flight line in the world over water. At times as they zipped along at speeds of 40-50 mph. No the line doesn’t go into the water just look like from this height. …
We walked down the pier to the island and first thing we noticed was the clear water. It was so pretty. I have tried to find information on the bust but can’t find any information on her. Guess she just a bust to greet to visitors. As we wondered along the path to the beaches there were bands playing.Further down across from the beaches at the Village Amphitheater dancers were performing. Across the road was the Café Labadee. This is where we enjoyed our complimentary BBQ lunch. The food was wonderful with lots of selections. The fresh fruit was my favorite. These are just some of the views on the island. The cables are from the Dragon’s Flight line.We walked along the trail to the Artisan’s Market and Village. The locals vendors like to bargain but we didn’t find anything we just had to have.

It was such a peaceful beautiful sight and the air was cool and crisp – for a summer day. Breakfast arrived and was the best one we had on the ship. Hairspray is a musical with music by Marc Shaiman, lyrics by Scott Whitman and Shaiman and a book by Mark O’Donnell and Thomas Meehan, based on the 1988 John Waters film Hairspray. The songs include 1960s-style dance music and “downtown” rhythm and blues. In 1962 Baltimore, Maryland, plump teenager Tracy Turnblad’s dream is to dance on The Corny Collins Show, a local TV dance program based on the real-life Buddy Deane Show. When Tracy wins a role on the show, she becomes a celebrity overnight. She then launches a campaign to integrate the show. Hairspray is a social commentary on the injustices of parts of American society in the 1960sI don’t know which was more fun watching the action on stage or watching Samantha’s reaction. She seemed to enjoy the singing and music. It was a fun afternoon!
Thunder Storms were in the forecast for today and we did get rain. This picture was taken from the Aft Lobby on Deck 15 of Central Park after breakfast. This is the best place to appreciate the full scale of this amazing Neighborhood. In this photo you can see the large blue and white umbrella, provided by the ship. Pictures of Central Park will be posted later.

Holan had the hair dryer on our balcony, thought she might need to plug it in to dry her hair. By this time she had already check out the walking/running track and had been up and down the ship several times. All before we ever got out of bed! The t-shirt is one she picked up in Turkey. We had breakfast …
As we got up to the cabins there was luggage sitting here, there and every where. We received our luggage soon after getting to the cabin….well most of us did. Holan’s was no where to be found. We checked several times with people delivering the luggage and was told just to be patient. They were doing everything possible to get them delivered as quickly as possible. If Holan had not received her luggage by 8:00 pm then we were to go to Deck 2, aft, where the undelivered luggage holding area was located. So after dinner, we went down to Deck 2. It was like a different world in that area. As we stepped out of the elevator it was like stepping on to an interstate. But instead of cars there were people traveling at different rates of speed and they all seem to be on a mission. This is …
