We arrived in Mt. Shasta without any problems, got to the hotel, cleaned up and headed out for the Welcome Party. And a welcome it was. Tom, Mary Alice and Dee had arranged a very nice evening for our enjoyment. We were so entertained that not many pictures were taken. There was two coolers and tubs of drinks to start off the evening. Then the buffet started with a delightful assortment of food. Chicken and beef, salads, baked beans and dessert were all wonderful. There was one salad we weren’t sure what it was, so Steve went into the house to find out and also to see if he could get the recipe for the beans. He learned it was a quinoa salad and the recipe could be found online for the salad. However, the cook said the beans was an old family recipe and she would not tell anyone what was in it or how it was made. She also shared that she is a cook for the Hearst Family, there in Mt. Shasta.

Everywhere you looked was personal touches; a great deal of attention to deal in the smallest things. Meeting new people, visiting with old friends and just relaxing was the order of the evening.

The horses next door came over to join the party and were offered a snack. They were so pretty.

This is Matt, brother of the groom. I think he was glad the evening was taking on a time to relax for him.
