We were driving around in Beverly Hills and decided it was time for lunch. We had seen several food trucks in the area. They were stopped by houses that were either being built or remodeled.  We stopped at the next one we saw and order a Mexican lunch. We then went to a very nice park, where there were picnic tables, playground and restrooms. It was a very nice lunch.
Next to our hotel was an In-N-Out Burgers. We had heard from interviews with stars after the Oscars that they were going to or had been to In-N-Out Burgers. So on our first night we stopped in to check it out. They serve up hamburgers that have not been frozen and fries from real potatoes cooked in vegetables oil and not salt. They have a small menu but they also haven a secret menu that can be found on the web. Downside to their popularity is that they are always crowded. Mobile POS systems are used during peak hours in order to help curb long drive thru lines. It was crazy how many cars were lined up. The line continued out into the street, almost causing a jam at the traffic light! We met Claudia de Vasco, she was Clementina in the recent revival of Gilmore Girls, as we all …
Our lunch was a delicious buffet with a ton of variety and an open bar. Save

Everyone was filling their plates in the kitchen and someone dropped a roll, Hershey grabbed it and started eating it.
We took the elevator up to deck 8 to O’Sheehan’s Bar & Grill This has become our favorite place to eat soon after we board the ship. We find there are fewer people here because they have not discovered it yet. The tiered seating overlooks the atrium while surrounding a small central bar, with windows overlooking the ocean and lots of heavy wooden tables, chairs and leather booths. It serves the typical assortment of comfort food: mac ‘n’ cheese, burgers, chicken pot pie, fries and nachos. It is open 24 hours a day. We had the Ultimate Beverage Package as our upgrade for this cruise. The package included a variety of spirits, cocktails, wines by the glass and bottled or draft beer up to and including $15 and unlimited fountain soda and juices at all bars, lounges and restaurants. So we enjoyed a nice lunch and drinks. Save Save Save …
Our last night in NYC, we were looking for a place to eat. The hotel staff recommended The Keg Room, just around the corner from the hotel so we headed out. It was a nice warm, Irish pub atmosphere and lots of beers on tap. We were seated immediately and got our drinks and food ordered. Very nice choice for our last night-good service, food and drinks! An interesting thing on the menu was the Hangover Burger.
As we were leaving the Financial District, it was time for lunch. We came upon a deli named The Best of New York Food. It was a true NY deli with breakfast eats, sandwiches, burgers, soups and of course, New York Cheesecake. Our food was very fresh, a good value for NYC and very good service.
After our day, we were in need of something to eat for dinner but were still full from our lunch. We decided to stop at Junior’s on Broadway and 45th Streets, which has been referred to as the Crossroads of the World and is in Hell’s Kitchen area.  There was a long line to get in, so we picked up pastries from the bakery on the side of the restaurant. Junior’s is known for being the home of the World’s Most Fabulous Cheesecake but they have lots of other pastries. We grabbed several selections and headed for the subway. Finally, back at our hotel, we decided enjoy our desserts on the patio in front of the hotel. Now realizing it is November and we’re in New York, one would think it would be too cold. But no, it was very pleasant and nice to have a place to rest, eat …
We were in Time Square and it was 11 o’clock, time for lunch. Holan suggested we have pizza at John’s of Times Square. She had eaten there before and the restaurant has been voted one of New York’s best pizzas because of its unique characteristics. We arrive just as they opened and were seated at a table where we could see the coal-fired brick ovens. By the time we ordered drinks, garlic bread, house salads and pasta dishes there wasn’t an empty table in the restaurant. Pasta dishes …. yes, we were there for pizza but the pasta sounded good and we were not disappointed. We ate as much as we could but there was just too much food. Even Dee, who belongs to the clean plate club, couldn’t finish hers. Holan picked up the tab in honor of her father’s birthday.
